The Parish Pastoral Council is the central governing board of each parish. Its membership consists of members of the parish commissions and committees, as well as four at-large members. Each Parish Pastoral Council is a consultative body assisting the Pastor in ministering to the parishioners of St. Bernard Parish and St Martin I Parish.
In seeking to do God’s will, the Council makes recommendations to the Pastor concerning parish priorities, directions, and policies, which are arrived at by spiritual discernment and consensus. The Parish Council also encourages, coordinates, and directs the parish commissions and organizations to implement parish goals. Meetings are held once per month for each parish.
