Programs & Services

Saint Bernard Catholic School offers a number of services aimed to help our families with particular needs.

Before and After-School Care

We offer before-school care beginning at 6:00 a.m. and after-school care until 6:00 p.m.

Bus Service

We offer bus service for virtually everyone who attends Saint Bernard. Students who live in the South Spencer school district may ride South Spencer public school buses and are dropped off at our door in the morning and picked up at our door in the afternoon. For students who live in the North Spencer school district, we have our own school bus that provides morning and afternoon bus service.

SchoolReach

SchoolReach is a mass-parent notification system, which allows us to disseminate important information to all parents within a matter of minutes.

All-Day Kindergarten

The first accredited school in Spencer County to offer all-day kindergarten, Saint Bernard has many years of experience providing an enriching, learning and safe environment for your children at this very special age.

Special Needs Services

Direct speech services are offered here at Saint Bernard Catholic School by our part-time speech specialist.

Dubois-Spencer-Perry County Co-op offers other special needs services to our students in cooperation with our local public school system.

D.A.R.E.

D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children from kindergarten through 12th grade how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug- and violence-free lives. We offer this program to our fifth-graders, led by the Spencer County Sheriff.

Title I Reading Program

We have a Title I reading specialist on staff part-time to offer extra one-on-one and small group learning assistance.

Counseling Services

Counseling services are available through Catholic Charities.
